The Union Fire Department has three divisions: the city fire department serving
within the city limits, the rural fire district which protects the surrounding
community outside the city limits, and the ambulance company which provides
emergency medical and pre-hospital care for both the city and rural district
coverage areas.
The City of Union enjoys a ISO class 4 fire rating within the city limits, which
is one of the best in the state for a completely volunteer department. Our class 4
rating permits the residents of Union lower insurance rates than many neighboring
communities.
Our first response area ranges from the historic Hot Lake resort five miles north
of the city to the county line 20 miles to the Southeast and includes a broad
range of industrial, commercial, residential, agricultural, state park and forest
service lands. The main Union Pacific rail line also runs through the district.
We also have mutual aid agreements with all fire agencies bordering the district
and are one of a small number of agencies in the county with certified by the
State of Oregon to provide pre-hospital care.
The fire department is located at 570 E Beakman Avenue with some administration
at City Hall. Please consult your local telephone directory for the contact
numbers for your local emergency services provider and always dial 911 for any
emergency within the county.
